Shipley and Knepp
Most of this walk now goes through areas with large free roaming animals
Walk at Shipley and Knepp. Park at car park next to windmill, turn left then left into windmill entrance, the path turns right near the windmill. Follow the path until you come out on a road (approx half mile) turn right then almost immediately left, the path is fairly obvious until you enter a rough field keep to the left edge and you will find the path easily. after a while a farm track crosses the path, carry on for a short distance and the path goes to the left, it goes past a smallholding so take care. when almost at the buildings turn left along a hedge, do not go up the farm track but go into the wood ahead. At the end of the wood you will join the farm track, turn right. When a track crosses turn left this takes you past a lake then onto a driveway past a couple of properties and onto a road.
At this point you can head back by turning left along the road then right into track past the windmill.
To continue turn right, keep an eye on the hedge on the left and go through the gate. (There are free range deer and pigs in the estate. Take care) The next bit is not obvious, but head to the hedge ahead bearing slightly right, if you miss it just wander up or down the hedge until you find the gap. Cross the bridge and straight on through next hedge, keep straight ahead until you get to the drive, turn left (if you like lakes, take a little wander up the drive to the right). When you come out into parkland beare left across the grass to rejion the drive go along the drive for another 100yds or so and turn left, again across the parkland next to the large trees. Go through the gate and across the road up the track opposite and into some pony paddocks, keep ahead and into the wood. At the far end go through the kissing gate and along the hedge to the road. Turn left, follow the road round to the right and back to the car park. THIS WALK CAN BE VERY MUDDY IN WINTER.
