Pephurst Wood
This is a very good walk to let your dog run a little, there are very few hazards of any kind. The wood is privately owned but has been used extensively by walkers for many years and there is a network of paths criss crossing. For your first few visits it may be wise to keep to the footpaths.
Through the main part of the wood there is a shingle ride, this is not a footpath but if you are lost and stumble across this path it will take you almost to your car.
Go along the side of the field ahead, up the bridle track. Continue for half mile until there is a field directly ahead turn left, 50yards turn right on to footpath out into field and straight ahead, left after the pond on farm track, turn right on next track that crosses your path (this is pheasant area) Continue until the Sussex border path is reached then turn left.
Turn left onto next footpath that goes into wood ( this is a very safe part of the walk) continue on this path until you have a field ahead, turn right over small stream, alongside field and into the wood, over the shingle ride continue until left hand footpath which runs alongside fields on and off. Back onto shingle ride, turn right then right again, back to car.
There are various extensions to this walk that you can discover if the wood isn't big enough! Two of which I have shown but not explained.
